What ABV describes
Alcohol by volume describes the proportion of ethanol in a beverage by volume. It is a concentration measure, not a complete statement of serving size or exposure.
Useful editorial bands
The atlas groups non-alcoholic formulations, light and standard beers, stronger beers, wines, standard spirits and higher-proof expressions for browsing. These are approximate editorial bands, not universal legal categories.
Compare concentration with volume
A meaningful technical comparison considers both ABV and container volume. Price, category and serving conventions should not be used to infer safety.
